The Minister of SMEs, Social Economy, and Handicrafts received a multi-sectoral Tunisian economic mission on 12 October 2023, in the meeting room of the Emergence building. This visit of businessmen led by H.E. Karim BEN BECHER, Ambassador of the Tunisian Republic to Cameroon, is part of strengthening economic cooperation ties between the two countries. The meeting aimed at identifying partnership opportunities offered on the Cameroonian market for Tunisian products and services, and initiating new business contacts with national economic operators.

After warmly welcoming his guests, Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III set the scene by recalling the possible partnership axes in the strategic sectors identified by NDS-30. He also presented the structures of his ministerial department that could establish relationships with similar structures in Tunisia, notablyThe National Pilot Enterprise Nursery located in Edea(PNPE) created following a mission carried out in Tunisia.

MINPMEESA recalled that today there are areas of action in which there is a convergence of views and for which Tunisian and Cameroonian entrepreneurs would benefit from working together, “so that we can achieve this qualitative leap, aiming at producing goods and services that meet the expectations and needs of consumers in our two countries”.

For his part, the President of the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC), made strong announcements to Cameroonian SMEs. He wanted to specify that through this economic mission, Tunisia is “willing to receive Cameroonian start-ups for a six-month incubation; to support Cameroon in vocational training through the training of incubator trainers among others”.
