The Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts informs SME promoters that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a call for applications under the “100 Heroines of Agrifood Systems and Rural Development” initiative.
The initiative aims to highlight and celebrate 100 outstanding women worldwide, including three (03) Cameroonian women, who are making significant contributions to the transformation of agrifood systems and rural development.
The initiative targets women making a significant impact in areas such as agricultural production, agrifood processing, entrepreneurship, innovation, nutrition, market access, rural development, and the promotion of traditional knowledge and practices.
It offers a valuable opportunity to showcase internationally the achievements, innovations and impact of Cameroonian women contributing to value creation, food security and the development of their communities.
The official unveiling and celebration of the 100 heroines is scheduled for October 2026.
