Led by its President and founder Dr HODA Jalal Yassa, a huge delegation of the Union of Arab Women Investors was received in audience on March 17th 2022 by the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts H.E Achille BASSILEKIN III in his audience hall.

The audience which lasted about an hour was centered on acquainting the Minister on the objectives, functions, achievements as well as prospects of the union. Dr. HODA explained the objectives of this organization which aims to strengthen and promote the role of Arab women by encouraging investment, developing economic relations between the countries and enriching the economic and social role for the advancement of women and society. Regarding their prospects, the Union’s President declared that the Union of Arab Women Investors is seeking Cameroon’s membership with the aim of achieving the promotion of joint Arab actions and global development in the economic aspect and that of social responsibility. Already in partnership with other African countries, the founding President with the support of H.E the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts intends to invite Cameroon to the International Conference for Arab-African Investment that she is organizing in Egypt come October 2022 so as to attract an impressive number of Cameroonian investors.

It should be recalled that the Union of Arab Women Investors was launched on June 1st 2005 during the activities of the session of the Council of Arab Economic Unity at the ministerial level under its resolution N° 1272. The union hence became an Arab non-governmental organization that works within the framework of the League of Arab States. The Union of Arab Women Investors has records 17 Arab member countries.
