The Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille BASSILEKIN III, granted an audience to H.E. Veronika BOSKOVIC POHAR, the new Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon.
The meeting provided an opportunity to welcome the new European diplomat and reaffirm the shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between Cameroon and the European Union in support of SMEs, the social economy and handicrafts.
Discussions focused on strengthening the competitiveness of Cameroonian businesses, productive transformation, digitalisation, access to finance, value-chain development and unlocking the potential of the handicraft sector.
Over the years, the European Union has supported several key initiatives in Cameroon, including the Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange (BSTP), Business Creation Formality Centres (CFCE), the e-Regulation project, PMEAA, DACC, PASAPE, as well as new programmes such as PAD-CV, the Cameroon Digital Acceleration Programme and Digital Business Boost for Africa.
For Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III, the objective is to turn these cooperation instruments into genuine drivers of productive transformation and value creation for Cameroonian SMEs.
Speaking after the meeting, H.E. Veronika BOSKOVIC POHAR reaffirmed the importance of the historic partnership between Cameroon and the European Union and her commitment to working with the Cameroonian authorities to ensure the success of ongoing and future projects.

A new chapter is therefore opening to further strengthen cooperation in support of entrepreneurship, innovation, competitiveness and sustainable economic development.
