The new boss of the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized enterprises Social Economy and Handicrafts was sworn in today the 07th of January 2019 at the Emergence building following Decree N° 2019/002 of the 04thof January 2019 by the President of the Republic of Cameroon.

During the massively attended installation ceremony, the Prime Minister, Head of Government DION NGUTE recommended that “Rigor and hard work” should be his watch words. The 50 years old diplomat replaces Laurent Serge ETOUNDI NGOA who has been head of the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized enterprises Social Economy and Handicrafts since 2006.

Before his appointment as Minister of Small and Medium-Sized enterprises Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille BASSILEKIN III has served as Economic Adviser to the ACP Group of States, Head of Department of Sustainable Economic Development and Trade at the secretariat of the above group from 2001 to 2007. It should be noted that in 2005, he was appointed as Cabinet Attaché at the Ministry of External Relations (MINREX) and Secretary General at the Ministry of Commerce in December 2015. Achille BASSILEKIN III was Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until his recent appointment on the 4th of January 2019.
