Under the esteemed patronage of Meyong Gilbert Sunday, Senior Divisional Officer for Boyo, the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy, and Handicrafts organized, this Thursday August 28, 2025, in Fundong, the Boyo Divisional Handicrafts Fair, under the theme:
“Promoting the Production of High-Quality Handicrafts that Comply with Standards.”In an inspiring address, the Mayor of Fundong urged craftsmen and women to improve the quality of their products, raise their standards, and seek greater visibility not only within Boyo Division but also nationally and internationally.
The tour of the stands highlighted the renown of Boyo, especially its excellence in producing the traditional regalia of the North West Region. Artisans were encouraged to eliminate inconsistencies and firmly position themselves as key drivers in the development of the handicraft sector.
The highlight of the event was the awarding of prizes to the laureates, a proud and moving recognition of their creativity and hard work. Both the SDO and the Mayor expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister of SMEs, Social Economy, and Handicrafts for his tireless efforts in promoting the industry.
This landmark event, not held in Boyo for many years, ended in resounding success, leaving behind pride and unity among all participants.
