On December 9, 2025, a strategic meeting marked a turning point for gender equality and women’s empowerment in Cameroon. Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III from the Ministry of SMEs, Social Economy, and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA) and UNDP Resident Representative Mathieu CIOWELA have teamed up to make women entrepreneurship a driving force for national economic development!
Under the leadership of President Paul BIYA, Cameroon is fully committed to providing women with real, sustainable opportunities. MINPMEESA is working tirelessly to:
✅ Improve women’s access to entrepreneurship
✅ Enhance their skills and leadership
✅ Develop innovative projects for the internationalization of women-led businesses
✅ Support women in underserved regions for equal access to economic resources
With initiatives like SheTrades and Manioc and Women in the AfCFTA, the Ministry and UNDP are paving the way for Cameroonian women to take their rightful place in the global economy.
Together, we are taking another step towards a more inclusive, just, and prosperous Cameroon.
