On December 9, 2025, Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III of SMEs, Social Economy, and Handicrafts welcomed H.E. Patricia Maria Oliveira LIMA, the Brazilian Ambassador to Cameroon, for discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the key sectors of SMEs, Social Economy, and Handicrafts. 🌱
This meeting took place in a context where both Cameroon and Brazil are eager to deepen their collaboration, particularly through the Brazilian Agency for Cooperation (ABC) and SEBRAE, a key player in supporting micro and small enterprises.
The discussions focused on concrete initiatives aimed at strengthening agro-industry, improving access to equipment, and modernizing business incubation systems in Cameroon. The goal? Accelerating the agro-industrial transformation of local products such as cocoa, coffee, and cassava by drawing inspiration from the Brazilian model, while adapting it to local realities.
Both parties also discussed the implementation of pilot projects to test models tailored to the needs of local producers, with a particular emphasis on handicrafts and production sectors.
With this cooperation, Cameroon and Brazil are marking a turning point in the development of their SMEs, fostering social innovation, agro-industry, and the promotion of handicrafts for a more prosperous and inclusive future.
