When talent, creativity and craftsmanship receive the highest level of recognition!
Cameroonian master sculptor, designer and draughtsman, Gabriel Tegnoto is one of the outstanding figures of Cameroonian art craftsmanship. Trained as a cabinetmaker, he has transformed wood into remarkable works of art at the crossroads of tradition, design and contemporary architecture.
His creative process begins with highly detailed architectural drawings made with a Rotring pen, which he then transforms into unique creations using precious woods, particularly ebony.
 Among his iconic works is the “Royal Chair”, a unique creation patented with the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI).
His talent has also reached international audiences. Invited for a creative residency by the Blachère Foundation, Gabriel Tegnoto has exhibited his work at Bandjoun Station, highlighting the artistic significance of his creations.
🏆 DOUBLE RECOGNITION AT SIARC
At the 9th edition of the International Craft Fair of Cameroon (SIARC) in Yaoundé, Gabriel Tegnoto achieved an outstanding feat:
– First Prize in the Carpentry and Cabinetmaking sector;
– Special Prize of the President of the Republic, presented by the Minister of Arts and Culture.
This double recognition celebrates years of hard work, creativity, research and continuous improvement. It also demonstrates the potential of Cameroonian craftsmanship to produce original, competitive and culturally meaningful creations.
 For Gabriel Tegnoto, however, success goes beyond awards. He is now committed to passing on his skills to young people and advocates for the creation of a dedicated training centre for the next generation of Cameroonian artisans.
His journey is a true Success Story: an artisan who transforms material into art, craftsmanship into innovation and passion into excellence.
Gabriel Tegnoto: Cameroonian talent, exceptional craftsmanship, national pride!
