On Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, as part of the National Youth Day celebration, the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts received the Dynamique de la Jeunesse Camerounaise (DJC) at the ministerial office, represented by its President, Mr. Alain Boris Tientcheu, accompanied by his advisor, Mr. Louison Essomba.
The meeting provided a platform to discuss support and technical assistance for young entrepreneurs in a spirit of dialogue and collaboration.
Founded just one year ago, the DJC brings together over 500 active young members, each contributing 1,000 FCFA per month . The accumulated fund is allocated to a member to finance an entrepreneurial activity, repayable over 24 months at zero interest and without collateral .
This initiative aims to promote social inclusion and youth empowerment, and already 78 projects have been submitted in just six months . Early beneficiaries have launched small entrepreneurial ventures and micro-projects, contributing to local economic development.
The Ministry praised this innovative initiative and encouraged the DJC to provide more detailed technical documentation, with a view to establishing a youth business incubator and exploring possible avenues for collaboration.
This audience highlights the government’s commitment to promoting youth entrepreneurship and supporting private initiative in Cameroon.
