The Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille BASSILEKIN III, granted an audience this Wednesday to an Egyptian delegation led by H.E. Mohamed Karim Fouad Sharif, Assistant Minister for African Affairs at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad.
The discussions focused on strengthening and deepening bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Egypt in the fields of SMEs, handicrafts and investment.
Several areas of cooperation were explored, including:
sharing experience on Egypt’s SME Strategy 2030; mobilising international financing for Cameroonian start-ups, particularly in the digital sector; technology and know-how transfer; establishing a dialogue framework with Egyptian institutions supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises; reviving the project for the establishment of a leather-sector training centre, with Egyptian support; opening negotiations towards a cooperation agreement in the field of handicrafts. A strong focus on business and investment!
The meeting also addressed the forthcoming Egyptian-Cameroonian Business Forum in Egypt, as well as the participation of Cameroonian companies, business leaders and investors in the African Business Forum in El Alamein, scheduled for October.
The event will provide an excellent platform for B2B and B2G meetings, business networking, investment opportunities, market access and stronger connections between Cameroonian, Egyptian and African business ecosystems.
Speaking after the meeting, the head of the Egyptian delegation welcomed the fruitful discussions and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to pursuing this dynamic partnership.
