“The adequate awareness of economic actors of the legal innovations and regulatory framework guiding their actions is the main preoccupations of public authorities”. It was with these words that Minister Achille BASSILEKIN III launched the popularization and appropriation campaign for the normative framework of social economy in Cameroon which took place on the 29th of June 2021 at the Yaoundé International Handicraft Centre.

The official launching ceremony was marked by a workshop aimed at edifying social economy organizations and enterprises on Law N° 2019/004 of 25th April 2019 guiding the social economy sector in Cameroon. Participants were also given a better comprehension of the specificities, innovations and implications of this law.

Concerns on the decree guiding the structurisation and operationalisation of social economy organizations, the role of each and every member of the social economy eco- system as well as the principles guiding social economy organizations amongst others were also some of the issues discussed.

Speaking at the end of this workshop, the Inspector General of MINPMEESA Mrs. CHINDO Emilia indulged participants to come together as cooperatives for better outputs and to stay in touch with their various regional and departmental delegates for continuous guidance and success of their actions. She also clearly outlined the roles of regional and Departmental delegates of MINPMEESA in ensuring the implementation of this law for the achievement of better results.
