After fruitful deliberations and B 2 B sessions during the Cooperation and Partnership Days under the theme “Technical and financial partners and the development of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and handicrafts”, the three days working session have come to an end.

The fruits of these exchanges were the firm recommendations formulated and contacts made between all participants such as bilateral and multilateral technical and financial partners alongside actors of the SME sector in order to give a new era to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cameroon. Amongst other recommendations were the popularization and access to information on available international funding windows and the terms and conditions of accessing them, strengthening capacities of actors of the entrepreneurial eco-system in view of enabling them to accessing international and national credits more easily. Although emphasizes was laid on the flexibility of accessing financial mechanisms and the differentiation of finances for SMEs and Start ups, adapting them to the local and national realities was also suggested.

While commending the dedication and professionalism of national and international experts and participants throughout these exchanges, Minister Achille BASSILIKEN III stated that the recommendations arrived at, will facilitate the successful reinsertion of SMEs into the sector’s ecosystem as well as help them to meet up with the stiff competition in the global market. He also indulged all present that the reviewed existing financial mechanisms established should be used to support SMEs, social economy actors and craft men and women thereby optimizing the offers from technical and financial partners.

Worthy to underline that these days were aimed at assembling technical and financial partners in supporting government’s efforts to achieve its growth and development objectives for SMEs through financing various technical and/or technological innovations as well as the provision of technical support and other strategic resources to SMEs.
