Last night, under the dazzling lights of CCMC Fashion Week 2026, the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille BASSILEKIN III, joined Cameroon’s First Lady, Mrs. Chantal BIYA, at the closing ceremony of the 17th Forum on Fashion, Design and Handicraft Professions held at the Hilton Hotel in Douala.
Under the theme “Weaving Worlds: Roots and Innovation Between Cameroon and the Rest of the World,” the event powerfully demonstrated that creativity is not only an art form—it is also a catalyst for economic growth, job creation, and social transformation.
The Cameroon Fashion Designers Center (CCMC) is much more than a fashion promotion platform. It is a true incubator of talent, a space where dreams take shape, ideas become projects, and creators become entrepreneurs. As the supervisory ministry for business incubators, MINPMEESA continues to support, mentor, and empower young innovators, helping them transform their passion into sustainable and competitive businesses.
Within the framework of Cameroon’s National Development Strategy 2020–2030 (NDS30), the Leather , Garment and Textile sectors are recognized as strategic pillars for industrialization, wealth creation and the promotion of Made in Cameroon excellence.
Through initiatives such as CCMC Fashion Week, MINPMEESA actively contributes to:
Creative Africa is rising.
Cameroon is showcasing its expertise. Our artisans are innovating. Our designers are inspiring. Our entrepreneurs are building the future.
Congratulations to the incubated designers, award winners, mentors, partners, and the entire CCMC team for continuing to elevate Cameroonian creativity onto the global stage.
The world is no longer asking what Africa can become. Africa is showing the world what it already is.
