The Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Achille Bassilekin III received an award during the Itinerant African Energy Fair held from 12-14 July 2023 at Yaounde Conference Centre. Also awarded were the Minister of Communication, Spokesperson of the Government, René Sadi and the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba.
Through this distinction, the Confederation of Electricity in Africa commends their involvement in the successful organisation of the fair which aimed at improving the energy potentials of Cameroon and Africa.
The fair took place some few weeks after the celebration of the Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day under the auspices of the Ministry of SMEs. “Access to energy: issues and Challenges for MSMEs” was the theme of that celebration. It was an opportunity to highlight Government initiatives as well as those from other players in the ecosystem, in order to democratise access to energy in a context of sustainable development. The ultimate goal of this celebration was to encourage the growth of competitive MSMEs, which in turn will contribute to the industrialisation of our country and the well-being of its people.
