{"id":8127,"date":"2026-09-14T15:28:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T13:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.minpmeesa.cm\/site\/?p=8127"},"modified":"2026-09-14T15:28:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T13:28:56","slug":"kribi-21-tailors-trained-in-the-art-of-traditional-textile-dyeing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.minpmeesa.cm\/site\/en\/kribi-21-tailors-trained-in-the-art-of-traditional-textile-dyeing\/","title":{"rendered":"KRIBI: 21 TAILORS TRAINED IN THE ART OF TRADITIONAL TEXTILE DYEING."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">From 1 to 11 September 2026, the Divisional Delegation of the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA) for the Ocean Division hosted a training programme on traditional textile dyeing, bringing together 21 dressmakers and tailors.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Initiated by the Divisional Delegate, the training was organised with the support of the National Employment Fund (FNE) in Kribi and the Kribi Agro-Pastoral Vocational Training Centre (CFPAK).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Throughout the training, participants were coached by Christelle MENI, an entrepreneur and professional textile dyer, who shared practical skills and techniques in traditional dyeing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The programme covered:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8211; tie-dye and binding techniques;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8211; basic dyeing techniques;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8211; batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8211; sales and marketing techniques;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">practical entrepreneurship ideas and business development approaches.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Beyond technical skills, the training provided participants with a better understanding of the economic opportunities offered by handicrafts, helping them turn their creativity and know-how into sustainable income-generating activities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0The training programme concluded with a certificate award ceremony for all 21 participants, presided over by the Head of the FNE Kribi Agency, in the presence of the Divisional Delegate of Employment and Vocational Training and the Director of CFPAK.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Through this initiative, MINPMEESA, particularly its Divisional Delegation for the Ocean Division, continues to strengthen its commitment to skills development, handicraft promotion and support for local entrepreneurship.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0In Kribi, handicrafts are being strengthened, modernised and transformed into new opportunities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From 1 to 11 September 2026, the Divisional Delegation of the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA) for the Ocean Division hosted a training programme on traditional textile dyeing, bringing together 21 dressmakers and tailors.
